EAS364   Japanese Popular Culture   (20 credits)

Description

This module will examine the following aspects of Japanese popular culture: manga (comics), anime (animated film/television), popular music, television drama, popular film, and the entertainment business. Particular emphasis will be placed upon the inter-relationship between all these forms and their commonalities as well as interpreting and analysing them as manifestations or representations of Japanese social attitudes and relationships.
